Parent Aide Services

Family Care Network’s Parent Aide Maintenance program works with the Department of Human Services to assist families that are identified as at risk for abuse and neglect. The Parent Aide Maintenance program uses professionally trained and supervised paraprofessionals who bond with the parents and families that they serve. Parent Aides become a mentor and support for these families. The Aides can assist the families to learn about child care, appropriate and effective discipline, home management, good nutrition, budgeting, good health habits and how to utilize community resources. Parent Aides conduct weekly home visits and incorporate hands on teaching techniques such as role modeling, demonstration and individualized planning techniques.

All Parent Aide Maintenance requests must come through the Michigan Department of Human Services using the appropriate referral forms.
