Parent Education

In-home and group parent education classes are conducted by professional educators to parents and families referred from the Department of Human Services. Classes address positive behavioral support skills, effective parenting strategies and age-appropriate expectations incorporating the positive, nurturing philosophy of raising children by Dr. Stephen J. Bavolek from his work on “Nurturing Parenting Program Model”. Parents referred to our group program attend a series of 14 weeks and parents referred to our specialized in-home program are provided an individualized program suited to their specific needs. All programing is reviewed and endorsed with the DHS Referring Worker. Group classes are conducted in Wayne County at six different locations. Transportation is provided. In-home parent education is provided in Wayne County.
